"Issun-bōshi" is a traditional Japanese folktale about the adventures of a tiny young boy who is the size of a little finger. Here's a brief retelling of the story in English:

Once upon a time, in a village, there lived a childless couple who longed for a child. One day, they found a tiny boy inside a river. The boy was only one sun (about 3.03 centimeters or 1.2 inches) tall, so they named him Issun-bōshi, which means "little one-inch boy."

As Issun-bōshi grew older, he developed a strong desire to prove himself and overcome his small size. So, he left his loving parents and set out on a journey to the capital city to serve a feudal lord. Equipped with a sewing needle for a sword, a soup bowl for a boat, and a chopstick for an oar, Issun-bōshi bravely faced the challenges that awaited him.

In the capital city, Issun-bōshi came across a princess who had been tormented by a demon, an oni. With his courage and wit, Issun-bōshi battled the demon and saved the princess. Touched by Issun-bōshi's bravery, the princess granted him a magical mallet. With the help of this mallet, Issun-bōshi and the princess were able to return him to his normal size.

Having grown to his full height, Issun-bōshi became a renowned samurai, married the princess, and lived happily ever after.
